Individual partners – individual volunteers provide essential support and mentoring and are a greatly valued contribution. Visiting the island and volunteering in established programs or mentoring women, men and children in an effort to promote social change in the areas of education, health, female empowerment and entrepreneurial skills are just a few of the opportunities where help is needed.
Kids Against Poverty – Mobile Computer Program, bringing computer access to hundreds of children with a solar mobile center that visits schools and introduces and teaches basic computer skills.
Kolunga Village Foundation – constructed new health clinic and provides partial funding for the health clinic, dairy goat project, sanitation and business mentoring.
Embrace Learning – partners with local primary and secondary schools by identifying needs and providing infrastructure, curriculum, teacher salaries and mentoring in an effort to enhance education and inspire learning.
Intel – provides computer support, training and mentoring for Mobile Computer Center and Rusinga Island Trust Computer Learning Center.
Dreyfus Health Foundation Problem solving for better Health Project – source of funding for micro loan activities to solve specific health related issues that the community is facing.
Plant with Purpose – source of funding for briquette making machine, bio-intensive agriculture training, and a dairy goat project.
Care Kenya – provides training to the community on sustainable agriculture and cost effective latrines for impoverished community members.
Centers for Disease Control – source of funding to train RIT Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) counselors.
German Development Service (DED) – source of funding to construct latrines and water tanks.
International Medical Corps – partnership to operate the Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre.
